One Park Drive
One Park Drive in Isle of Dogs, Canary Wharf, is one of these areas where you can feel its own vibration and lifestyle in London.
Isle of Dogs is a neighborhood with an interesting past that has became a modern place surrounded of a great architecture.
The Isle – as it is affectionately known by locals – despite its name, is not actually an island, but an area in East London within a large meander of the River Thames.
Today it is a residential oasis of quiet streets that have grown in popularity alongside Canary Wharf’s dockside landscape, which has transformed since the closure of the docks in the 70s.
Since the 80s, continued investment in Canary Wharf has brought about colossal change, who have all set up home in the skyscrapers that make up the area’s iconic skyline.
At 235m tall, One Canada Square is the one with the triangle top and the most easily recognisable. It was once the tallest building in Britain before it was knocked off the top spot by the Shard (309m) in 2012, with its closest rivals being the headquarters of HSBC and Citigroup in Canary Wharf at 200m each.
One Park Drive is one of the buildings that belongs to this new skyline. It is a residential skyscraper currently under construction situated next to the Canary Wharf development on the Isle of Dogs, London.
The building is designed by Herzog & de Meuron, is cylindrical in shape, and will be 58-storeys comprising 468 apartments when completed. The building is being constructed in the South East corner of the area previously known as Wood Wharf.
Positioned at the head of the dock, it proudly represents everything that makes the new neighbourhood so special – a unique architectural achievement thoughtfully designed to be the very best in city and waterside living.
The developer is Canary Wharf Group, and it is keen to stress the ongoing transformation of the area. Brian De’ath, director of residential sales at The Canary Wharf Group, explained:
‘People know where Buckingham Palace is, but if you have not been to Canary Wharf in the last five or six years, you will not know what is here’
