Southbank Tower

June 11, 2020In Blog, Lifestyle

Southbank Tower is a high-rise building in Stamford Street, Southwark, London. It was originally a thirty-storey structure 111 metres high and was completed in 1972, designed by the architect Richard Seifert and built by John Laing.

In recent years, the tower has undergone extensive redevelopment and a height increase and has now been transformed into luxury residential accommodation, office and retail space.

The tower is similar in design to Tower 42, which was designed by the same architect.

Southbank Tower combines residences with unrivalled views, moments from the River Thames and standing proud as one of London’s most unique addresses. Each apartment enjoys stunning views, complemented by five-star amenities. Now 42 storeys, the tower offers amazing views across the London skyline and boasts 193 luxury apartments. There is more than 370,000 square feet of offices, 72,000 square feet of retail space, a 25 metre long swimming pool, a communal roof terrace, residents’ lounge, gym, screening room and business lounge. The project overcame significant technical challenges and required close alignment between us and our supply chain.

Whether enjoying the warm glow of sunrise or the neon glow of the capital at night, your waterside vantage point is unrivalled. Enjoy a juxtaposition of historical landmarks and contemporary icons along the span of the River Thames, from Westminster Abbey to London Bridge, capturing The Shard, The Gherkin, London Eye and the Millennium Bridge.

Rising to 12 metres, the proposed grand entrance lobby has been designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, providing both a beautiful statement gateway as well as an inviting space for meeting guests. Drawing inspiration from intricate flower petals, the sleek curved form of the lobby is a sculptural object in itself, housing the concierge on the ground floor while peeling back at the top to reveal a private mezzanine space.

A palette of polished concrete, Polensa Grigio Marble and brushed aluminium provides an alluring taste of what can be found in the apartments themselves. Elegant and refined.
